Explorations in TAO Series
Hello Everyone,
I hope you were able to spend some quality time with friends and family to celebrate the deeper meaning of love and community over the holidays.
As we are transitioning from the end of the “boar cycle” into the beginning of the “Year of the Rat” cycle, we can reflect on what we have learned and unlearned. This creates the stage for the next part of our journey. Do you sometimes find your thoughts and feelings wandering aimlessly from past events and happenings to anticipation and expectations for the future? This type of experience can waste a great deal of precious energy and often has little value. Sitting quietly on a regular basis and letting go of your imaginings is useful. Learning to dissolve all the residue of our thoughts, past and future, creates the space for “presence” to emerge. Presence grows out of a quality of whole consciousness without judgement or resistance to anything inside or outside our selves. Is this possible in a world moving faster and faster far beyond our nervous system’s capacity to integrate everything in a healthy way? I believe it is possible to nurture you true intentions and to evolve humanly.
For years I periodically taught classes in the “Explorations in TAO” series which are different from the hourly qigong classes I teach weekly. This series unfolds in longer several hour segments, to gives each student the opportunity to penetrate and assimilate the deeper connections that the nei gung qigong system contains.
This January class will include a review of material from the previous two Taoist Longevity breathing classes taught in N. Carolina. The main focus of the workshop will be to introduce the dissolving process, which is how the Taoists from the “water school”, (fire schools use a different method) approach the release of obstructions and resistance to whole health. This can clear the path towards the unfolding of layers of consciousness not accessible, due to feelings of stagnation from an unhealthy occupation with life’s traumas and wounds. This then leaves any sense of true freedom, love or balance beyond our reach.
These practices are foundational to revealing the nature of meditation. Breathing and dissolving are very basic and practical teachings in your journey towards becoming alive, awakened, and an authentic human being. Within this class, I will interweave an understanding of how to navigate your inner and outer world thru the lens of the ancient primal oceans, known as the non-somatic extraordinary vessels or NSEV, for short; to enhance the learning process. I look forward to seeing you there!
